I had an unusually vivid dream that I was in a formal dance of some sort and that I was sitting at a table.  Now, my experiences with high school dances at that point had been very little.  I had only been to one  dance and that was during freshman year.  I remember turning to my left in my dream, and there was Lediya, my date for the evening.  I woke up feeling several emotions at once: intrigue, excitement, and bewilderment. 

Two of our mutual friends discovered that I had a crush on Lediya so they set us up for a group date that summer of '93.  It was a breakfast at the local IHOP, and Lediya and I sat next to each other.  I don't remember what we talked about, but I guess the vibes were good enough that I was brave enough to ask her out again, this time on a one-on-one date.  We had a marvelous time, the highlights being swinging on the swings under the full moon and sharing a chicken quesadilla at SuperMex.

A few months after that first date we officially became a couple on 01▪17▪94, the day of the Northridge quake.  My dream was realized when we went to our senior prom and sitting next to me was Lediya, my date.
