What to Do

                                          Long Beach/Los Angeles Area

Long Beach has it all- the feeling of a small town, the services of a large metropolitan city, and the entertainment and art of the world.  California's fifth largest city, Long Beach was founded in 1784 when two ranches, Rancho Los Cerritos and Rancho Los Alamitos, merged to become one community.  The city has a rich and diverse history, representing many different cultures and interests.  As such, the things to do around Long Beach and Los Angeles are many and varied.  Here are just a few of them:

  • Soak up some sun at these beaches nearby: Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, Redondo Beach, and Manhattan Beach

  • Go bike riding or rollerblading on the oceanside paths of Long Beach, Santa Monica, Venice Beach

  • Go shopping at Second Street in Belmont Shore, Cerritos Mall, South Coast Plaza, and The Grove at Hollywood

  • Check out the majestic Queen Mary and the Aquarium of the Pacific

  • Take a quick island getaway at Catalina Island

  • Go to these amusement parks: Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios, and Magic Mountain

  • Attend a Dodgers or Angels baseball game at Dodger Stadium or Edison Field

  • Star gaze at the Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and at the Hollywood Walk of Fame

  • Eat sushi at Taiko in Brentwood, Korean BBQ at Sa Rit Gol in Koreatown, Chinese seafood at Ocean Star in Alhambra, and Cambodian noodle soup at La Lune in Long Beach
